Transportation Partners,
Federally funded transportation projects will be considered by the South Central Area Transportation Partnership (ATP-7) for inclusion in the 2025-2028 Area Transportation Improvement Program (ATIP).
ATP-7 will be accepting applications for the following program areas:
1. Small Urban (City Streets/Bridges) – Projects are being solicited primarily for the year 2028 for city street and bridge (on the federal aid system) projects. The federal funds can fund up to 80 percent of eligible project costs. Projects on city federal-aid routes may be proposed by the city involved. Applicants must use the “District 7 STP Small Urban Application Packet” form, which can be found on the ATP-7 website at the following link: https://www.dot.state.mn.us/area-transportation-partnerships/south-central.html.
2. Rural (County Roads/Bridges) – Projects are being solicited primarily for the year 2028 for county road and bridge (on the federal aid system) projects. The federal funds can fund up to 80 percent of eligible project costs. Off-system bridges are being solicited through a separate process. Applicants must use the “STP Rural Application Packet” form, which can be found on the ATP-7 website at the following link: https://www.dot.state.mn.us/area-transportation-partnerships/south-central.html.
3. Transportation Alternatives (TA) program kicked off in October with the release of the TA LOI (Letter of Intent). While helpful to the process, LOI submittal is not a prerequisite for completing an application. Federal funds will be primarily for the year 2028 and can fund up to 80 percent of construction costs. There are numerous types of eligible projects, including but not limited to sidewalks, trails and safe routes to school infrastructure. If you are planning to submit a full TA application, or for more information on the TA solicitation process, visit the ATP-7 website at: https://www.dot.state.mn.us/area-transportation-partnerships/south-central.html.
The deadline for applications is January 12, 2024.
