$1 Million in State Historic Preservation Grants Available

The Minnesota Legislature and Governor Walz have directed $1 million to the State Capital Projects Grants-in-Aid program.Administered by the Minnesota Historical Society, this program supports historic preservation construction projects for publicly owned buildings acrossMinnesota.

To be eligible, properties must be either listed on the National Register of Historic Places or determined eligible for listing by the Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office. All work funded through the program must comply with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for theTreatment of Historic Properties.

Key dates to note:

·      Pre-applications are due Friday, January 23, 2026

·      Final applications are due Friday, March 6, 2026
