Join colleagues from townships, cities and counties across Minnesota. Learn about finding, engaging, and supporting teens working in elections. Hear from elections administrators and young people about what has worked (and what to avoid). Begin or bolster your election judge trainee program.

This workshop will provide information, resources, and support for recruiting and successfully working with16-and 17-year-olds as Election Judge Trainees. Starting EJ service in high school benefits your office, the polling place, the experience of voters, the future of Election Judge recruitment, and the young people themselves in multiple ways. Join your colleagues from cities and counties from across the state to learn more of the why and how of finding, engaging, and utilizing Election Judge Trainees in your polling places. Hear from offices and young people, hear what has worked (and what to avoid), and begin or bolster your Election Judge Trainee program.

Attendees will receive an Election Judge Trainee "Toolkit" that includes:

-Tools, templates, and resources to help recruit students

-Examples and case studies for how to train students

-Best practices for working with youth

-Assistance for connecting with schools and teachers in their community

-Election officials with successful election judge traineee programs will also be on hand to answer questions and provide insights on overcoming challenges.
