Minnesota Truck-Weight Education for Road Authority and Enforcement Staff

This free course features many elements of the traditional truck-weight course , as well as more specific information needed for successful prosecution of violators. It includes explanations of specific statutes governing road weight and a weighing demonstration with portable scale weighing guidance. Hope to see you June 13 in St. Cloud!

The latest OPERA-funded project saves time, improves safety during culvert cleanouts

A skid steer attachment clears debris from a culvert.

Culvert cleaning crews in Otter Tail County have spent many hours manually shoveling out clogged culverts, which can be a dirty, dangerous, and labor-intensive job. The department’s skid steer attachment—the Otter Claw—has changed all that. The county received funding from the Local Operational Research Assistance (OPERA) Program to enhance the device, and an OPERA video is now available.
